Some of the areas covered include: safe daily operation of a boiler, boiler operation principles, boiler fittings and accessories, steam and hot water systems, combustion controls and efficiency, boiler water treatment, boiler maintenance and log keeping, state and federal regulating agencies, test applications, and affidavits. On-site boilers, both steam and hot water will be used for “hands-on” illustration of materials covered in the classroom. Upon satisfactory completion of this course, you will be prepared to take your MN State Examination. This course is also for anyone wanting to test for Special Class through Chief. Your fee includes the required book and workbook. Limit 12.

The class also covers automated external defibrillation for adults and children, foreign-body airway obstruction (conscious and unconscious), the use of a bag valve mask, special resuscitation situations, and other cardiopulmonary emergencies. This class is required for anyone working in a hospital or health care setting. This course requires certification every two years. First aid is not part of this course. Register separately to receive a BLS Provider Manual with your training.

Each Sunday, we’ll spend 30–40 minutes of cardiovascular interval training for all levels, a warm-up and cool-down plus 15 minutes of strength training and 10 minutes of stretching and education. Some may choose to register and participate in the Wonder Woman 5K in Fargo on June 28 to cap off our training session! Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
